Re: California Great America is SOLD to JMA
^Back in December (12/6/11) JMA did back out of the deal and CF agreed to be CGA's long term owner. CF is also willing to work with the 49er stadium project rather than raise a stink (probably because Mr. Kinzel is no longer running the show...he's the one who wanted to rid CGA off their hands to be...

I found this photo several months ago when looking for some photos of my aunt who had passed on. Not sure when this was shot (my parents frequently did Santa Clara's GA)...

Re: Invertigo???
Not being removed. Should be back up and running this coming season. This winter/offseason, I'd assume, would be getting things back 'on track' (sorry, pun not intended).

Re: 2009 HAUNT
So, has anyone made it out to CGA's Haunt this year? They've done an amazing job especially with Toy Factory. A lot of work went into that maze, a lot of attention to detail. The ending is super crazy too. And if you didn't have enough of Toy Factory, it comes complete with a catchy theme song that ...

My first moments of entering GA...The carousel and pond probably stood out the most, as I thought it was a ginormous swimming pool, and only wanting to ride the top level on the carousel as it was up higher. The whole space seemed really wide open as opposed to now, maybe because of the surrounding ...

I've actually bought quite a few souvenirs/t-shirts from CGA. Last year's souvenir cup (bought near halloween) was pretty generic, didn't even have the park's name on it. I bought one this season (at the start) which consisted of a clear speckled cup with CGA's logo, and Firefall's logo. The whole R...

Yes, that policy totally sucks. The way I see it, and what I would do, would be to bring only what you can safely fit in your pockets. The only thing I had to leave out riding Firefall was my souvenir cup. Camera and phone stayed in my pockets. I totally disagree forcing people to have to either spl...

And present day CGA's distinctive sounds that seem to stand out: -Top Gun's/Flight Deck's lift, occasionally sounds like it's chattering from the anti rollbacks -Squeaks of Firefall rocking back n forth -The releasing of the restraints of Centrifuge/Fiddler's (Makes this shocking noise multiple time...

Speaking of what you guys recall as Skywhirl, and what I remember as Triple Wheel, and even the Spider (if you watched Beverly Hills Cop III) I do have a couple questions... Did they actually release one of the cages and have it come crashing to the ground when filming that scene in the movie? I fai...

Cedar Fair-ized (almost) Great America
I posted this on a couple other sites, and I figured I would share with you guys as well. Today was opening day for California's Great America (CGA). Snapped a few "What's New at CGA for '08" photos...I'd almost describe today's visit as "buggy/glitchy" as tons of rides were down...
