Wow! Finally a huge step in the right direction! It's great to see the new "CGA" reverting slowly back to what it used to be with longer operating hours in the summer, a new thrill ride other than Boomerang Bay, a new wooden coaster in 2009 & the return of the classic ice show at the n...

For me in SC, ever since they torn down the railroad and redid the Carousel Plaza area, it seems that there are too many wide open spaces. Paramount's downfall unfortunately was the way they redid the themeing (if you call it that) and the removal of iconic rides and buildings. The old Yukon Territo...

GA's New Name/New Logo: California's Great America?

Just heard from a friend who works at the park that California's Great America will be the new name starting in 08. Sounds much better than Knott's Great America, as having any Peanuts characters wandering around would be just weird for me. Hopefully this will be a start of better and brighter thing...

Excedrin Commercial Featuring Top Gun

Just saw the new commercial for the pain relief medicine Extra Strength Excedrin featuring Top Gun. My friend's bf is a mechanic and was there during filming. Anyone else see it yet?

Day went well. There were little to no lines at all. Orbit was back and rolling nicely. Nice subtle changes around such as new paint on handrails on Grizzly, Top Gun (Queue Line Cleaned up with netting surrounding the themed objects), Invertigo. New Fun & Safety guideline signs with the new logo...

Actually the weather in winter ain't that great. (Though this winter has been fairly warmer) There's a reason why Northern California theme parks are only open Spring-Fall, and Southern California parks are open year round: weather.

2007 Admission Prices falling

Just browsed the GA website and noticed they posted the General & Junior/Senior admission prices for 2007. The prices have fallen by $5 to $46.95 for general & $29.95 junior/senior respectively. Nice to see what Cedar Fair changing things for the better! http://www3.cedarfair.com/greatameric...

I just thought of something quite funny after looking at the pics. It is really strange to see the palm trees in Santa Clara's park since we don't have that in Gurnee. I guess us Midwesterners aren't used to that, but it is probably very normal to you Californians. Did Santa Clara always have palm ...
