Speaking of the covered bridge, I was wondering if the Gurnee park had this same "design flaw" as the Santa Clara park, where I worked Security in the 80's. Even though First Aid was located in the center of the park for obvious reasons, it made it difficult when an ambulance was called to...

I remember Kelly was there when I left and Doty had retired earlier in 1995 or 1994. I heard that Kelly died a couple of years ago. She worked for Evergreen College District Police Department when she died. Can anyone confirm that? Anyone remember Joyce Varley who worked in Security for a long time...

Do the security guys still run around with walkie talkies in paper bags trying to look incognito? I always thought one day some little old lady would call park security because she saw some crazy guy talking into a paper bag. When I worked Security in the mid 80's, we would only do that on special ...

I can't decide if I like it. I mean, it takes away from the welcoming openess of Carousel Plaza when you first walk thru the gates. Having this massive wooden coaster looming over you when you first walk in, well, just not sure if I like it.

No, the park is now staffed by droids.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

[quote="NorCalDude"]That is really sad. Even though the wave pool is not really that deep, the fact that the waves never stop makes up for it. I thought it would be the same as Raging Waters where the waves come and go every so often. I think I read that the maximum depth of the pool is 6 ...

As far as I know, Pat Huckaby is still the Security Director (Chief) and Aaron Ippolito is no longer in Security. He is now the Park Ops Manager. Aaron Ippolito is Park Ops Manager? Man, when I worked in Security in 1987 he was just a twerpy little Security Officer that annoyed everyone. We called ...

They could........ but it would be severly inpractical. Sadly, They would have to get passed A LOT of new attractions including: Celebration Swings, probably Survivor: The ride, Psycho Mouse, Thunder Raceway, and the whole waterpark (which are in the way of the old route). I don't think there is an...

Freeway sign??

I don't live in the area anymore. Can anyone tell me where this sign is?

Is this in front of the park, or is this the new sign next to 101? I can't figure out what that is next to the sign on the left. Looks like little hills or mountains?????

The park itself doesn't scream america to me either. Gone are the themes that made the park so great. The theme areas are there, but the themes are gone. What they did to the Yukon Territory is disgusting.

What makes it easy is that the Paramount sign above the Great America part seems like it could just be removed easily and be replaced with Cedar fair. Where is that sign? Is it where the old one was next to the 101 freeway? What are those things on the left as the look like little hills, but its on...

I've been up to the Consulate many times, as part of my building checks as a Security Officer. A few times we have gone in and indulged ourselves of the refreshments in the kitchen.

Rumors that security officers on grave shift have taken their girlfriends up there have not been proven

I believe the one in Santa Clara had something to do with the Carousel. It was at the base of the reflecting pond just across from the entrance gates. It's exact wording I couldn't say.
