I agree, that is a great collection.

I might have some of my 'Grams' when I worked at the park. If I find them, I'll see if I can post a few as well.

Thanks for taking the time to put that together and share it with us! :)

Easy Question :) The sounds that the Tidal Wave made when operating... clank, whoosh, roll, whoosh, clink, clink, clink, clank, whoosh, clank, clank... (then some sound made when the lap bars came up...) :D I agree. Not only was the ride wonderful to watch, it was also cool to hear. I remember worki...

Yes. That row of houses are the ones that I was thinking of.

I believe most of them are still there, but I know that one is gone now.

While one page does say it, its not on all of them at this point. So, this could just be a typo on the Dorney page, or the fact that the other pages have not been updated yet. For example, if you go out to Dorney Park's webpage, and read about the Maxx Pass, you see this http://www.dorneypark.com/pu...

The one from 1980 is a good one. Lots of footage from the SC park, but I think there is some from Gurnee in there as well.

Thanks for sharing! :)

I worked the following rides in 1991 and 1992. -- Railroad -- Triple Play -- Hometown Fun Machine I also operated the Trolley during the nightly parade in 1992. What I liked about the Railroad was it was one of the more relaxing rides in the park. Not only that, but it allowed me to see the whole pa...

The one house I still remember was an older farmhouse-style home located directly across the street from the station for the American Eagle. I would imagine the noise would have made continuing to live in it impossible. Its interesting that you mention that section of land. There was actually anoth...

What ride do I miss the most? Wel, all of mine are from the Marriott era. Sky Whirl: To echo what others have said, Sky Whirl is the ride that I miss the most. It was a wonderful ride for young and old guests alike, and gave a wonderful view of the park and surrounding area. On a hot day, it was a g...

Jon,

At one time there was a footer for Rolling Thunder that could be seen from SW Territory. I think when they added Hurrican Harbor, they finally took it out.

I might also have a picture of it too. When I get home from work, I'll look and see.

Wanted to show the progress of the modified sign. This picture was taken today. I'm guessing that the new top should be up by the end of next week. http://CPE-65-29-35-94.wi.res.rr.com:2711/jcpics/brian/MGAParksPhotos/NewSign.jpg By the way, the parts laying on the ground is the new top. Now, not su...

Yes, that is the buidling. The doors on the upper level lead into the area where the forum will be taking place.

Of course, you are showing the Santa Clara one, but its still the sme building / place in Gurnee. Just wanted to point that out.

I don't believe any of the park models are stored up there. The only way I know to get up their is by the stairs on the side of the buidling (Columbia side, just backstage). The park models, as far as I know, are all on the other side of the park, in the maintance buildings. They probably do have ol...

I did get the inital e-mail about it, and I did respond that I was interested. At this point, I have not been contacted, so I am guessing that I was not "picked" as well. As far as the parks "VIP Apartment", I personally have never been in there, but from what I've been told, its...
