Re: Fort Fun

They changed it up and renamed it Kid Kingdom (that's when I worked there). I haven't been to the park in years and don't know what's there now. The last I knew there was a Hanna Barbara merry-go-round at the entrance. It's across from the flume rides. Wow... it's probably been 15 years since I've b...

Could it be possible that talks were in the works for the sale and they had to put a hold on anything they were preparing to do?

Thanks, I liked that. It was kinda funny that they didn't have someone "older" that maybe had been there at the beginning. Are no original employees left?

Was there any news coverage in S.C.?

That is interesting. It seems that the Gurnee gas station was much closer in. On the complete opposite side of the parking lot. Are the entrances to the parking lots opposite as well? Santa Clara's station was way out in the boonies, where I think there was a lone toll booth for busy days. ??

I remembered hearing a few years back that it was going somewhere in the NorthWest. I thought it was a done deal. I found these: http://www.zoo.org/carousel/ Tuesday, September 26, 2000 Antique zoo carousel gets a Seattle home ------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Well.... all the stuff that I posted pics of months ago, I have in a box (except the buttons which I have in my collection cases with hundreds of other buttons). The shirt and stuff I bought at that sale, dunno! I've moved seven times since working there, I probably just got rid of them over the yea...

I went to one of those sales and bought several things. Wish I would have hung onto the stuff. I had a baseball style t-shirt with Marvin the Martian standing on top of the Columbia Carousel. :( That was back when they were selling off everything that said Marriott on it.

Cool! I can see where I worked my first "real" job after Great America and where I went to Junior College. I just realized that I spent about 6 to 8 years of my life right there in that intersection.

Thanks for the photos!

I finally got around to capturing these shots off video. The quality is bad, but at least they are here. http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/2922/cap0028kc.th.png http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/2549/cap0033sz.th.png http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/561/cap0043ey.th.png http://img410.imageshack....
