'Clean as you go!' is also a McDonald's slogan! When you pay attention to the smallest of details as McDonald's has, you know you are successful -- and that's what Marriott's did!

View-Master Reels of Marriott's

I just came across a packet of 3 View-Master Reels that I forgot I had. I do not remember when or where I got them, but I know I was a little kid in the late '70's. I downloaded the cover and back of the packet that they come in and is now in my photo album. The back indicates what picture is on eac...

I was just thinking about adding this topic, and I see that there already was a forum of the shooting galleries. I agree with those statements above about the galleries being a little creepy! The piano man was almost scary...I wonder if some of the mechanical things moved after the park was closed f...

Yes, i remember that commercial very well! The Bugs Bunny voice definitely isn't Mel Blanc, but I guess we'll have to take it. I am remembering all the fun things to do and how great the Marriott era was in the park!

Famous Entertainers???

Does anyone know of any very famous actors, dancers, musicians, etc. whom got their start performing at the shows at either Great America? This would count both parks and all eras.

I thought Great America was one of the highest attended parks that Six Flags own. Does anyone have actual facts about this?

If Six Flags is in trouble, wouldn't GA be the last asset they would get rid of?

Thanks for sharing the '76 pictures. I just love looking at the clothes of the park guests especially all of the polyester!! It is great to see how small the shrubs and trees are throughout the park when it first openned!!

True flavor of Marriott's Great America

These two paragraphs were written as the introduction of the 1980 picture book regarding the true flavor of the theme park: "What makes America great is people; the way they live, work, and play. It is in the spirit of this great land and people that Marriott's Great America is founded. A them park ...

Layout of the original themed areas

Here is a question for the former Marriott employees can answer, or we can find somewhere through the park design and plans.... Is there any actual reason of the layout of the original themed areas? I understand that Carousel Plaza is the entrance/exit for the park, but why was it designed that you ...

Eagle Mom, I remember being at that age to where you couldn't sleep the night before you went to Great America. The excitement was worse than trying to sleep on Christmas Eve. I just remember how exhausted I was at the end of day at Marriott's....that car ride back to Milwaukee seemed so long. I am ...
