Re:

Today I visited the park and rode Delta Flyer/Eagle's Flight both ways, and I'm pretty sure the drive station is at the D.F. station because the ride released really rapidly and came in really hard. PGA ROCKS: I worked at DF where the counterweight was located...EF was the drive station..."the...

Now that I think about I think you are right RLAiello. I wonder if it had anything to do with Six Flags having the same ride (it's not like the Demon). Triple Wheel was sort of a lame name and not a name I could see Kings thinking would be better.

I was trained (and operated at least once) the following rides: Skytower, Carousel Columbia, Rue Le Dodge, Delta Flyer, RRR, Orleans Orbit, Cajun Carpet, Lobster, Tidal Wave, Revolution, Yankee Clipper, Loggers Run, (all of Kids Kingdon/Fort Fun rides), Blue Streak, Fiddlers Fling, The Edge, Eagles ...

It seems to me as if the original rides were named randomly to go with the themed area they were located in...all the names (at the time) just sort of "fit" into their respective areas. (Orleans Place: Orleans Orbit, Delta Flyer, Rue Le Dodge, Cajun Carpet/Cliffhanger) Some of the names we...

When I left in 1995 if I am not mistaken, Pat Helbling (formerly Park Ops Mngr) was Loss Prevention Manager and George Buck was still Manager of Security, I believe Pat Huckaby had just went over to Park Services as a manager (I believe) and the supes were Terri McFarlane, Dave Fox and I forget who ...

They said the RR Rapids rafts could not flip over until about the second week we opened, one raft lingered just outside the station turntable and another left the station and both rafts were side by side and because of the current, the rafts spun against each other and the lighter one began to tilt ...

Sky Whirl

Sorry to restart an old topic...I have to ask...first I have to say I liked Sky Whirl...I remember when I went to MGA in the 70's & 80's as a guest I lwe loved trying to determine after the arm lifted when it would start spinning. (This was before they slowed the starting rotation down, or did s...

Same thing for shopping malls, their security officers generally have the amber light bars and they can attempt to pull you over in order to "advise" you of proper parking lot etiquite or (correct me if I am wrong) try to detain you until police arrive - like store security would do if you...

Back to February 2006...The Orbit was never moved for the construction of RR Rapids...I believe they closed it towards the end of the 1987 season due to construction of RRR but it was operating the second or third weekend into 1988. I think that was when they painted the cabins black, and the year p...

There would have to be another reason they would remove any of the rides with movie/Parmount titles or themes as Paramount Parks was licensed to use those names & associations and when the Cedar Fair group purchased the park it aquired the licenses for those attractions. They actually purchased ...

I remember once when I was in rides working Rue Le Dodge, Ed responded to a line jumping call I made. He pulled the two brats out of line into an empty area of the queue where everyone in line could see, he made them both stand there with their arms stretched out for like a minute while he lectured ...
