Re: Can we petition Great America to bring back Tidal Wave?

Thing is, it would even fit really well thematically with Hurricane Harbor…

Re: IT"S GONE! WHAT IS NEXT?

All you need to do is check the movie listings in your local paper to see the lie about IMAX film availability. In addition to an increasing amount of product available for museum/science venues, almost every major Hollywood picture is now available for the huge number of IMAX cinemas built by major...

I seem to remember the SC was very rarely open after the incident.

Whether that was just luck of the draw, the shutdown wind speeds were lowered, or what the actual reason was, I don't remember being able to ride the SC after that.

The most memorable sounds of Tidal Wave were the "flutter" sound made when the train was in station, and the high pitched whistle that meant the train was about to be launched…

I love Batman: The Ride but still miss Tidal Wave terribly…

I remember my Grad Night, in 1984. I recall you had to buy tickets in a block through the group sales office, so you couldn't just come to Grad Night by purchasing tickets; you had to get tickets through an organization affiliated with your school. I was the one that got our student council hooked u...

I remember the Hot Shoppe in Hometown Square where you could get a mug of root beer for a dime ! I remember they always had a long, long line, especially on hot days. :D (Then the price went up, the mugs got smaller, and eventually they disappeared altogether.) I recall the fried chicken in Hometown...

That may have been the same house I was thinking of, as I no longer see a house where I remember one looking at Google Maps.

The one house I still remember was an older farmhouse-style home located directly across the street from the station for the American Eagle. I would imagine the noise would have made continuing to live in it impossible.

Someone mentioned earlier that the tunnel lights at the top of the tunnel were prone to breakage by kids throwing stuffed animals and such up in the air, but what I head from another op (and witnessed at least once) was kids using the hard plastic batting helmet hats when GA started selling them. Lu...

One rumor that I had heard from an op in college was that the Eagle was only designed to last for five years as it had originally been a stopgap until the Southwest area went in, so every year after that it was a maintenance race to keep it running.

Any truth to that?

Tidal Wave. It must have been nearly 20 years before I rode anything else with the same initial acceleration, and I can still remember the "flutterrrrr" sound the catapults made while the train was in the station…
