Loggers for me.

It was my first water ride I went on. I thought it wasn't as scary as Yankee. I thought Yankee would be too fast because it went "straight down" as I called it. :)

Plus, I found an nickel in our log which made me one happy 7 year old.

It's sad to see Royale go (in whatever fashion). That was the first theatre I worked in at the park after transfering out of rides. The little closet under the office in there had a table with hundreds of signatures on it from previous crews and casts. Backstage was always fun as was the trap door t...

Reviving an old topic here... The foods office and the merch office (separate) was with the maintenance buildings. LP is in a small building next to the employee cafeteria. They always made it seem like that building was some big secret. There was a security trailer across from it. The Shows office ...

See, ya had to ask! To this day though I still remember the four set of breaks for Shockwave though -- safety, holding, ready, station (not counting the "c" block brakes which were before the boomerang). All because of SFGA ride op tests. Haha! I still remember the brakes on Raging Bull: ...

To attach what RBFan said... When I first started, you had to go through general orientation and kiddies orientation. From there, you were train on attendant for a ride and then operator (or single) for a ride. (Operator means you can operate the ride from the main panel and single means that you ca...

Marriotts Jacket

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone had an old operations jacket from the days of when Marriotts controlled Great America in Gurnee. These were used (if I remember correctly) during the 80's and early 90's. They were either black or navy blue and had a golden or white fleece lining in them. When ...

During the 4th of July, SFGAm puts American flags in the holders. I know that much. Plus, I remember riding the trolley when I was little. It was so much fun back then! In the park (HTS, OP, etc.) it looks like there used to be more tracks for the trolley. I'm assuming this is true because if two tr...

To explain on the lift chain not slowing in the morning: When I worked there, I was told by maintainence that this was due to how the computer worked. For so many cycles, the lift would remain on "fast" so that the maint. crews could test it more easily and not have to wait for the ride to...

Viper doesn't stop at the top of the lift hill. It just appearts that way. I used to work at it for about two years. What happened is when the train approached the lift, it went into "fast lift" mode where the chain sped up to get the train through faster. When the train was not on/approac...
