When I worked at the park we had a couple names for Sky Whirl. One Was ---- buckets. I left the first word out for obvious reasons, but I hear that vomit was not the only thing that was occasionally cleaned out of the buckets. I had mentioned that as well in a different Sky Whirl topic. It's scarey...

All I can tell you is that isn't what my supervisor told us had happened. She said that the brakes at the top of the lift side of thetower failed, and the car fell back down the lift tower. Of course, this was in '96 and I don't know if she had the details all correct, but she was just telling us th...

I can tell you exactly what that door is at the base of the tower. It goes into the tower...there is a spiral staircase in the tower for maintanance to get access to parts inside. I didn't work Tower when I was there, but I worked on the North side of the park, and I often worked at Space Shuttle Am...

I think that the grass in the middle may have been removed just because it was just easier.....maintenance didn't have to drag a lawn mower there for just that small patch. But don't quote me. The wooded arch in that last picture looks like the entryway into Southwest Territory. The words Southwest ...

To me it's always been "Great America"...I got into an argument with my math teacher my freshman year of high school about how it wasn't called "Great America" anymore. I had to be a smart ass and tell her that it's still Great America....just instead of it being Marriott's Great...

I don't know if there are any more three armed ferris wheels anymore...but there are some similar designs. I think Astroworld had a 2 armed one....don't know for sure though, and if it did if it's going to be relocated since the closing of that park.

Disaster Transport is still at CP. Was it Halloweekends when you didn't see it? Because during that it is a haunted house.

If you are taller than 4ft 9.....it's not a comfortable seat is one reason. My knees were ALWAYS at my chin...and I wasn't that tall when I rode it,since I was like 12 I was probably just about 5 ft tall at the time.

Six Flags won't get rid of Whizzer until it is dead. Too much of an uproar over the possiblity of losing it for S:UF, sadly, the public was less worried about SW eventual demise than that of Whizzer. I am sure it will be around for many years to come. Although S:UF would've been cool over the pond, ...

The heart condition was officially announced, but it wasn't as big a news story anymore. But the family never intended on sueing the park either, yes it was tragic, yes it was an accident, but in no way was Six Flags responsible for the accident. If she was chewing gum, she was violating a rule that...

Yeah, well fires don't generally close a ride down for good. Do you know how many fires they get on the cars on Raceway a year? My friend's Christy and Brad worked on those rides the year we worked there, and at least every other day they told me about how one of the cars caught on fire, or jumped t...
