I would say that the keep up of the rides is good in Gurnee. They have redone quite a few flat rides in past few years, something they are still working on. If I'm not mistaken Triple Play was the last one to get it.

There is water under some portions of the track. Underneath the lift is a maintenance shed that houses the computer for the ride. If you notice next time your at the park on the top of that building is a white light that warns people if the power is on to the lift. Since the lift has a 3rd rail to p...

I wish I had thought of it last week when I was there. I was taking some pictures of the Rafts in the employee parking lot, and I saw them working on the lift with the lumber, and it didn't occur for me to take a picture of it.

For the record Rev Bolin always used to say, "Awww Yeah welcome to the Almighty Condor." His reign at Condor was about 1994, 1995.

I know who it was I worked with all of those guys. It wasn't Pat Bolin, but one of the other 2 guys mentioned by name... We joked around like that when we all worked at the park. Some of us grew up, and some of us didn't. I think it was my ex-co lead when I worked at Orbit.

I am not talking about the real stuff on it. I think it is good. But some of the stuff that is meant to be a joke. It's funny but it also takes away the hard work you and others have put into it.

Hey Steven. You have probably already seen this since you are also a regular on the Astroworld site. This was on E-bay. Didn't know if you had anymore room in your storage but I know how you love skyrides.

The ride was Manufactured by Schwarzkopf, and operated three summers in 1993-1995 under the management of Operations Lead and Director of Hometown Square Operations Keith Bell. During Bell's tenure, the ride underwent a complete overhaul where pieces were actually removed to increase the RPM output ...

It's the red train from our Shockwave. At least that won't go to waste.

This looks like a similar design to Whizzer. Anybody know the story behind it... Where did it come from? Why build it but never open it? Did it get scrapped. I love learning the history of parks I would someday hope to visit.

When I worked at the park we had a couple names for Sky Whirl. One Was ---- buckets. I left the first word out for obvious reasons, but I hear that vomit was not the only thing that was occasionally cleaned out of the buckets. My favorite name was Sky Hurl. I loved the ride but did occassionally get...
