I sure would like to hear the song with the lyrics. Does anyone remember them all? I know it starts "see the carousel, spinning round and around..."

Oh my gosh! I just went and listened to this. I haven't heard it in years and I almost started crying. It put me right back at the main gate closing up for the night.

I enjoyed reading about the trains. Thanks for all the articles everyone. It is certainly sad that they removed the train from SC. There isn't much left there for grandparents to do anymore is there?

In all this talk about the Hot Shoppe, I decided to go back and refresh my memory on the Marriott beginnings. Found this timeline and thought it interesting that there is no mention of the parks. http://www.hostmarriott.com/ourcompany/timeline.asp And isn't this what the ones in the park looked like...

How do I create a poll? Creating a poll is easy -- when you post a new topic (or edit the first post of a topic, if you have permission) you should see a Add Poll form below the main posting box. If you cannot see this then you probably do not have rights to create polls. You should enter a title fo...

Wow, I never went in the park for Fright Night in SC, but from what I saw working I don't remember anything like this. I remember each area doing their own theming and decorating and some walk through things the park did.

I'm sure things have changed since I was there. Unfortunately a bad experience can leave a lasting impression.

I agree that they probably would have built more extreme rides. But....they would have kept the theming in place and Marriott runs a tight ship. The employees would be of a higher caliber, thus making families want to return to the park. Like I said before, it's been several years since I've been th...
