Gasoline prices

With the sky-rocketing high gas prices, I was wondering what rides will be affected by them. Do you think any of the rides would be temporarily shut down if prices soar even higher? I was espescially thinking about Old Barnfield Speedway cars! What kind of fuel does the train use? Do you think Great...

Little Red Schoolhouse

What services were at the Red Schoolhouse in the Hometown Square? I know that Lost Children and First Aid services were held there. Does/Did Great America have a nurse at the schoolhouse? Does anyone have any interesting stories that many guests while working there? Fortunately, this is one building...

I remember hearing about this, which is probably why Southern Cross was removed shortly after the incident. I think a similar incident happened at Delta Flyer in the early '80's. The last time I rode Delta Flyer was in 1983 with my 8th Grade graduation class. I was a little nervous if we stopped for...

Those above pics from redfishpaw openned another question...

How do they repaint rollercoasters, like Raging Bull?? Do they use cherry pickers, scaffolding, etc.??? It must be difficult especially with the high altitude and the winds of winter Illinois!

It would be great if we can still get some classic pictures from members of the 1970's and 80's! I have never been at the Santa Clara park and would still love to see pictures of how different the park was from Gurnee.

All members....go find and then upload your pics! ;)

Trolley

I don't know if this was discussed in a prior topic...

Does the Trolley that travels from Hometown Square through Mardi Gras at Six Flags still operate? I haven't seen it in years but I do notice the tracks still exist in the pavement.

Thanks

Now that it was mentioned, the bathrooms are nice and chilly during the summer!! The air conditioners must be huge ones for that small area of space. This was still true at Six Flags this past summer.

I am assuming that you were at Gurnee. It is amazing that you can't even find much of Looney Tune merchanidise anymore. You are right, it seems like everything is a super-hero comic book!

I was finally able to get back to SFGA for a family reunion on Sunday the 12th. In attendance was my uncle and my 17-year-old cousin who are from the Los Angeles area. I was hoping they would be impressed since they were used to other theme parks in the California area. I was very surprised to find ...

That is, unfortunately, the decision that stopped the classic themeing of the areas in the park. Since the Batman ride, Yankee Harbor is nothing like the way it used to be! I am just happy that Six Flags didn't ruin the park as Paramount did with the themes!!!
