Screams and Dreams 1972-1984

I just saw this on SFGA's website and got very excited. I think I need to return to the park this year, just to see this: Screams and Dreams: 1972-1984 Pictorium, located in Carousel Plaza (near the Columbia Carousel) Take a look at what it takes to build a theme park from scratch. This show takes a...

Re: Park Music for downloading!

I think there's a way I can put them on a "Cloud" server. I'll look into that tonight.

Sorry these disappeared for so long. I still have them all!

Re: Employee cafeteria

OK, I just recalled one of the most notorious things about the Employee Cafeteria - The telephone. That thing would ring ALL THE DAMN TIME! And some supervisor would run up and answer it and yell out "JILL FROM TIDAL WAVE!" "BOBBY FROM DEMON!" "TIM FROM CAROUSEL!" - it ...

They haven't been yet to my knowledge. I know JonRev and Steven had both volunteered to do it, but that was a while ago. I don't have a hosting site anymore. :-(

Re: Another Couple of Marriott Buildings Torn Down

While I agree that "Food Court" is a more accurate description, I would think that after 33 years' of being known as "Farmers' Market" most guests would know that "Farmers' Market" was a food court. ... Thanks, MGA1... I meant to say EXACTLY this in my reply about the ...

Re: Fort Fun

The Gurnee Park's "Fort Fun" became "Bugs Bunny Land" a couple years after Six Flags bought the park in 1984. Not a whole lot changed from the original "Fort Fun," aside from a different entrance theme ("Fort Fun" looked exactly like what it sounds like.. a wo...

Re: Another Couple of Marriott Buildings Torn Down

Maybe newer guests were confused with it's title Wow, I can't believe those game buildings are gone. I spent a lot of time in those things collecting money from those games when I worked in the park. I can still hear those rings clinking on the bottles as people played "Center Ring." And ...

Sure... that would make sense. Do you still have the CD I sent you a zillion years ago? If not, let me know ... I still have all the tracks.

VERY COOL!!!!!!!! Was the skyride Southern Cross? That's a view I've never seen, since I never went on that ride.

LOVE this.

Hey Jon - if you would do that, I'd be forever grateful! I don't have a dedicated hosting site anymore-- just became too expensive for the small amount of use it got.

Thanks much!

I can name that tune in just a few notes... That snippet of music on the Sky Trek Tower is from the OLD Front Gate Soundtrack from 1976 - approx. 1995 (?). I worked at the Front Gate from 1988 - 1989 and I heard that... a LOT. What annoys me is how loud people are on the Sky Trek Tower. Shut the hec...

SFGA YouTube Channel - Great old stuff!

Apparently Six Flags Great America has its own YouTube channel -- who knew!?! Here's a few really great clips I found there: Jewel Hill Farm Dairy and Standard Oil commercials- Great shots of the park and things that haven't been there in years! These are both from 1976. http://www.youtube.com/watch...
