I miss Tidal Wave and Sky Whirl. From the Marriott days through the first half of the Six Flags days, those rides were part of what DEFINED Great America. They were part of the landscape. Anyway, why did they change the name in Santa Clara from Sky Whirl to Triple Wheel? I cannot seem to remember the reason. That was put in about the late 90s or so.

But when I worked there, I never saw a plaque there. So it was probably removed after Six Flags bought the park.

There never was a plaque when Marriott owned the parks. Santa Clara's plaque was installed after the parks were sold, and Gurnee's plaque was installed only a few years ago or so.
