Re: Kentucky Kingdom Is Closing...

A story in the local newspaper quotes SF officials claiming that many of the rides will be relocated to other SF properties. So, I guess SF owns the rides.

Re: Little Dipper

Dipper is now under construction and is expected to open in June. Correction: It is not replacing the "ball room" which has been closed for "refurbishment" for several seasons. (READ: never to open again). Little Dipper coaster will be at the front of Bugs Bunny National Park...t...

Re: IT"S GONE! WHAT IS NEXT?

SFGA area supervisors love the brag about all the "inside" info that they know. By the way, the Little Dipper roller coaster is being rebuilt in Bugs Bunny National Park...which is good because that area is usually sparsely visited by guests. It is replaced the buidling that contained the ...

Rides of course! It was one chilly day at Six Flags. Lots of waiting outside to go through the line to hand in paperwork and have your ID photocopied.

Re: Little Dipper

The Little Dipper will be rebuilt in the Bugs Bunny National Park area between the "Buzzy Bee" ride and the Looney Tooter train ride. It will replace the "ball room" attraction that has been closed "for refurbishment" for several years. Unclear if the structure will re...

IT"S GONE! WHAT IS NEXT?

Space Shuttle America and the associated building were torn down during December 2009. This attraction was "out of service" during the 2009 season (and most of the 2008 season) because it was too expensive to operate, had too many maintenance issues, and people just weren't that crazy abo...

Re: What original (or old time) rides survive at each park?

Don't forget to look to the kid's areas for Marriott era rides.

- Boat ride now rebranded in Camp Cartoon. They don't make them like this anymore: heavy metal boarts
- Buzzy Bee now rebranded in Bugs Bunny National Park. You can see it featured in those 1976 commericials.

TOP TEN DESTINATION

Crain's Chicago 9 (vol 32, no 52) just named SFGA once of Chicago's top ten tourist destinations. In fact, SFGA is number 5 with 2,669,000 visitors in 2008 - an increase of 9.1%.

The top five are:
1. Navy Pier
2. Millennium Park
3. Chicago Trolley and Double Decker Company

Re: Employee cafeteria

The "Character Cafe" is still is business and offer employees the best values in the park. Always on the menu: chicken fingers and burgers. Rotating specials every day. I love the cheesy beef sandwich on crusty roll...with soda for $3.50. The room is decorated with movie posters. There are...

Re: Burgers on the Run

I would always eat at Burger on the Run. I loved the clock featuring the road runner with his legs constantly spinning around. You stood in one place and food revolved around a huge carousel. Not the most sanity in terms of public health safety. We would always wait until the cooks would put fresh,...

Winter party at SFGA!!! Sorry folks, only for former employees that wish to work the 2010 season . It's a rehire party. January 9, 2010 is the date for 2009 employees to grab their favorite job for the 2010 season. Part of the event is in the HR training rooms with "special" actitivities i...

Wilderness Theater

Why is there nothing on this site about the Wilderness Theater!!?? For you newbies, the theater is still there but the dolphin tank was filled with cement ages ago. At Gurnee, the theater is behind Camp Cartoon. You can still see the sign, totem pools and main gate sticking up above the Flintstone d...

Re: The 2009 season ends: what have you noticed?

Six Flags really needs to scrape and paint. read some on the online reviews of the park..most mention the dowdy condition of the park. The Marriott structures are 30 years old...some look terrible...dirty too. Next time you are there...look up! The structures in home town square are a mess. Curtains...
