The Whizzer pictures are great. It's very odd to see Whizzer with no ramp going up the lift. I've been up there so many times for downtimes. I assume they never needed to go up there before the ramp was installed. I also heard while I worked there that they used to run with 5 trains. Even with all t...

Thank Goodness the Gurnee park has decided to keep so many original rides. Triple Play especially it is the first ride I worked at in 1993. I'd be very sad if they took it out. Even if it does make me barf.

RIP Astroworld

Good news is only a month and a half until opening day. On a sad note the last of Astroworld is being destoyed  http://www.sixflagshouston.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1220 http://www.oldastroworld.com/album/ Not to mention that SFNO will more than likely be closed for their entire 2006 season wi...

Disaster Transport, which used to be at Cedar Point was a bobsled ride. It was a lot better, since it was enclosed, and dark inside. Wonder what ever happened to it. :?

OK as promised. Sorry it took so long. It took forever to scan all of those pictures. Most of these pictures were from my last day as lead of the ride... It was also the last day Rolling Thunder would operate during Fright Fest. The following year before the end of the season is when they started to...

Hello cwsr,

I have some pics of Rolling Thunder being dismantled, and some pics of it as it sat in the employee lot. When I get home tonight it will be the first thing I work on, since I rediscovered those pics last night. :D

I love all the pictures of the bolts from other rides. Everyone has pics of removed rides. I am posting a pic of an existing ride. In this picture the green bolt is from Rolling Thunder. I got it when it sat in the employee lot. The second is from Batman the ride. I guess they will change the bolts ...

One of the best times I ever had while working in the Gurnee park was the time a small group of us had the chance to go to SFOG to help out with their staffing. We rode rides more than worked but it was a blast. It was also the first year that the Viper (Former Tidal Wave) was awaken after the long ...

I also believe that SFOG had a Lobster ride similar to the SC park, and that ride developed a structual problem with micrscopic cracks in the arms... At least that is what I heard from a former employee. Maybe the SC ride faced a similar problem. They don't look as durable as the ride in Gurnee does.

I disagree. The third ride I was lead at was East River Crawler, so I had to test ride a couple of times a day. I had that thing spinning pretty fast. Almost made me sick a few times.

I was a North Side Rides training lead, for the last few years I was there, when I worked there I do remember the ride being down for an extended period of time because one of the axles broke on the ride, and the trains had to be E-vacked from the lift, and out on the track just short of the first s...

Bugs Bunny & Six Flags

Does anyone know if Six Flags got the rights to use Bugs Bunny in their parks nationwide when they bought out Great America in Gurnee? What about the Santa Clara park? After Marriotts sold them, and before they were bought by Paramount were they still able to use the Looney Tunes characters? Inquiri...
