No nowadays the Gurnee park commercials are catchy AND annoying. Tell me that when you turn on the radio and hear the Vengabus song you don't see Mr Six hopping around like a geriatric on speed in your head all day while that dumb song plays in your head. I have never seen a commercial for a Paramou...

They wouldn't have made it this long. They were going belly up from almost the very beginning. Marriott is a hotel company and wasn't truely prepared for what it took to run an amusement park....that's why they only lasted about 8 years. But then again...the same thing could be said for the various ...

Yes it was in Orleans Place, now Mardi Gras. It was themed after the movie Top Gun....they used to play "Highway to the danger zone" in the queue line. Nothing really fits into it's themed area anymore, really hasn't since Six Flags took over, little by little every year, a bit more of the...

Sorry Steve......back to the topic then...sorta...

I am not sure that I like SC's halloween themeing...although it is probably more kid friendy. I like Gurnee's dark and forbidding theme during Fright Fest.....Nick or Treat just doesn't seem to be my style.

"Get Carried Away"

Wow....24.95 for a season pass. Anyone want to find a wayback machine?!!!? Good Grief.....the season pass in '84 is like 1/2 the price of a one day admission today.

I knew they were out in '98, because '97 was the last year I worked there, so I needed a season pass again in '98, and at the bottom of the Six Flags logo the words "a Time Warner company" was blacked out, and I ran into an old friend who still worked there on one of my visits who told me ...

Actually, they did the fire effects on Sky Trek Tower back in '96. I was working there that year, mostly at Space Shuttle America as acting Lead, so I saw it frequently. It didn't have the King Kong theme, just random ghosts and skeletons hanging off the side. But every year there is talk of the Gur...

Yep, I stand corrected it is 6 cars on the train. Besides the Gurnee trains are different than the SC trains. The SC trains are the original Demon style and Gurnee went with a different style after a time. But it is still 6 cars per train.

I think that's right...I somehow remember that, wasn't it in Yukon Territory? It was a lumberjack themed game or something.

Ummm....I can't really discuss problems on Shockwave relevent to the period I worked there....signed a contract when I was hired.....but I can tell you that the trains were EXACTLY alike, except Demon has 5 cars, and Shockwave had 7.

Yeah, they all just walked away with serious headaches from all the blood that rushed to their heads while remaining upside-down for a few hours. Try lying on your couch with your head hanging down for a few minutes to see how long it takes before you feel a major headache coming on. Most people pas...

I know right...lets get rid of this awesome ride, because people don't trust it, and put in this ride that will 1. Squish women's boobs, 2. smash a mans bits and pieces, and 3. make everyone feel the need to pee from the constant pressure on their bladder, and possibly puke, and we'll call it Power ...

Wow, public confidence surely isn't the same as it used to be. People got stuck upside down on Demon for HOURS, and that hasn't seemed to make the public distrust that one.
