Sorry about the bad color / Quality, but here is the Hay Bayler car that is in Necropolis. I'll see if I can get a better picture during daylight hours. http://CPE-65-29-35-94.wi.res.rr.com:2711/jcpics/brian/MGAParksPhotos/HayBailer.jpg Another thing I noticed on 10-13-2006 was that they had one of ...

Wow... color me wrong! But when I worked there, I never saw a plaque there. So it was probably removed after Six Flags bought the park. Yeah. I started in 1988 as well, and I don't remember seeing anything like that at the front of the park. My guess is that it was removed in 1983 or 1984. --Brian

If im not mistaken, one of the stations for the Delta Flyer/Eagles Flight is the current location of Funnel Cake foundry. Funny, I can still close my eyes and see the cabins comming of the station. I am corrent right?? You are correct. Here's a picture that I took on May 29, 2006. http://CPE-65-29-...

Previously in this thread there was mention of the three skyrides here in the Milwaukee area: The Summerfest grounds, The Zoo, and The Wisconsin State Fair Grounds. I went to the State Fair twice last week and took quite a few photos, including the skyride (The Sky Glider), check it out if your int...

That is very sad indeed. Its been a few weeks now that I've been out to the Gurnee Park, so hopefully the same does not happen out there. And, to answer that_guy's question, I believe the Bumper Car buildings at both parks are the same size. At least that is what I get from looking at the pict...

Check this thread for a current picture of the Gurnee Sign that I posted. The picture was taken in 2005.

I believe the sign looks the same today, except the bottom part with the lights no longer works.

My understanding from the PR department and others was that it was suppose to be on display this season. I do know that for the Employee Rehire Party, they did pull it out. Currently, it is still in the back areas of the park. I am not sure if the park will pull it out or not. The next time I'm out ...

Yeah, when I said that Santa Clara had wood floors, I did not know that it was just wood on the upper level, and carpet on the lower one, untill I saw the pictures in that_guy's gallery. I agree that the carpet is not a bad thing, as long as they keep it clean. I also know it is probably easier to m...

Ride Names above our Avatar?

Steven, Not sure how long this has been there, but I noticed today names of rides above the member avatars, but below our member name. For example, see the attached image below http://CPE-65-29-35-94.wi.res.rr.com:2711/jcpics/brian/MGAParksPhotos/Question.jpg I am guessing the ride names have to do ...

RLAiello, I remember them as well. Each season, I always looked forward to "Big Bash", as it was always a lot of fun. Back in the late 80's and early 90's there were more video games and pinball machines in the arcades in County Fair, so I played them a lot. Of course, there was a lot of f...

Wood VS Carpet on Columbia Carousel?

Everyone, Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but another difference I have noticed between the two parks is with Columbia. I did not know that Santa Clara's Columbia had a wood floor, while the Gurnee one had carpet. You can see the wood floor of Santa Clara's in these pictures http://www.grea...

I did notice them. Hopefully, the Tidal Wave sign can be restored. I also liked seeing the rest of the other items on display.

Thanks for sharing!

Wasn't Triple Play also an original Gurnee ride? Yes, Triple Play was original Gurnee ride. Problem is, it's kind of hard to celebrate a ride that is not put together, or all at the same park. My understanding is that the middle section went to SF Over Georgia. We still have the arms and the ...
