If they were to sell or lease the land to the 49ers, they would have to build some sort of parking structure. It would probably be similar to Disneyland's Mickey and Friends parking structure that most people hate, although it would be a lot smaller. Doesn't Great America/Cedar Fair actually lease ...

What the #^%!~ did PGA do to the park?
I visited the park this past weekend, the first time in several years. I was saddened to see what PGA has done to the place. There is no "Great America" theme anymore. Its just an amusement park now. What they did to Yukon Territory is disgusting. Gone is the name and the rustic look. Its ...

I miss the train now that i have kids. It would be a nice break for them to ride it and get to the other side of the park. Do you think its gone forever or perhaps Cedar Fair will bring it back????? One can hope....right! Not sure how they would do it, unless it was completely outside of the park. ...

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd comment. When I was a Security Officer at PGA (before it was Paramount), we drove retired Santa Clara Police cars, complete with the cage in back and red and blue lights. We only used the lights and sirens in emergencies, but really weren't supposed to...

There's always some VIP or famous person in the park. One time, one of my co-workers in Security was assigned to escort Whoopie Goldberg and her kids around the park. They would bypass the lines and go up thru the exits, and to avoid fans they would go backstage to get from one place to another. As ...

Ed was cool. He was more of a diplomat than a security officer, but then he also could be really mean if he needed to be. I think he also played professional baseball, but I don't remember which team. He once showed us his trading card. I tried to look it up once but I could never remember how to sp...

Yeah, we alternated between Denny's and El Torito, but mostly Denny's as we knew the bartender ;) . As July 4th is coming up, I am reminded of how much action we had on that day. Especially if you worked day shift, you always ended up working a double. One July 4, I worked a double shift on dispatch...

Security 1985-1988
I worked in Security 1985 - 1988 as an in-park and mobile unit, dispatcher, and shift seargent. I got canned in 1988 because we got caught having too much fun during grave shift during the off season. We cruised around the park on one of the mechanic's little Honda motorcyles that they used to get t...
