Smoothest place to sit on Demon?

Post by PGA ROCKS »

Last time I went to Great America, I realized the smoothest place to sit is the back, then the most rough place to sit is the front. Why is that? :?:

My last 3 rides in front on the yellow train were smooth. Which train did you ride?

On the corkscrews, you don't feel the acceleration much until the last car has entered the bottom of the corkscrews. When this happens, the front car is already upside down in the middle. You take the sudden change in speed better upsideup than upsidedown.

From my own experience, most Arrow's are alot smoother in the back, yet I myself would still sit in the front. I'm hoping to hit SFGrAm next year for the first time. Does the park still have the same charm that it had before SF bought it out?

(GURNEE DEMON) From my experience, the Demon was rough in the back. The black train was always the worst train to ride in.

I wasn't priviledged to visit the parks when they were under Marriott's control. I only visited the Gurnee park and over the years, the park lost a lot of it's old charm. It's not bad now, but I wish things were like they used to be.

Also, I think one side (left or right) is worse than the others during the corkscrews. I want to say the left is worse, but I could be wrong. Has anyone else noticed this?

I love it when you sit on the right and can feel some moisture as you go through the face rock formation.

(GURNEE) On the Demon there its indeed a proven fact that Car:6 Row:1 is indeed the best seat in da house (aka the back car first row )

Yes, the left is worse. On the right side, you can lean against the right side of the car while on the right, you could be falling onto the other person's lap. I've had bad experiences. I always ride on the right if possible.

I agree that the back is really smooth and is a lot more fun.
