Rainbow?

Post by coolwavepic »

Does anyone remember the Rainbow from SC? I believe it was in Orleans Place and in the spot where Rip Roaring Rapids is. If anyone has photos of this ride, that would be great.

I never heard of SC having a Zamperla Rainbow but the Gurnee park has one that has been rethemed called TrailBlazer.

SFKK has one. It's basically a long arm with a gondala on the bottom that swings side to side and then eventually rotates 360 degrees. You do not go upsidedown.

If I'm reading the description properly, isn't that the "Cajun Carpet" that Santa Clara had? I think it may have been located in Yukon Territory, but am not 100% sure of the location. It may have been Orleans Place too.

Anyone else remember?

Below is a picture at night of the Falling Star (aka Rainbow) at Indiana Beach in Monticello Indiana.

I know Great America in Gurnee never had one of these. I am not sure if Santa Clara did or not.

Hi,

Santa Clara, post-Marriott, had this ride, although it's not quite the same as the one in Brian's photo. It was in Orleans Place, as has been mentioned already in the thread, hence the Cajun name. I have some photos, but they've not been scanned yet. :-( Eventually... :-)

Anyone know anything about it? When it openned/closed, where it was in Orleans Place, etc?

From what I remember it was where Rip Roaring Rapids is now. The ride was take out for the rapids. It was new the entrance to Yukon Territory. Maybe next to Orleans Orbit. This is a vague memory of it. I do remember it having a rainbow on it too.
