SFGAm Hurricane Harbor expansion

It has been said that HH at SFGAm will be expanded into the spot of the go-carts and Space Shuttle America over the off season, the go-carts will be moved to the spot of Splashwater Falls.

My guess- they want to extend it closer to the parking lot so they can begin charging a separate admission for the park. Probably a smart move.

Does anybody else think Hurricane Harbor could have been put to better use by creating a whole new area to the park, with like old school rides like the whip etc.? They could have even put in a new coaster. I think this would have been a much much better use of this space. They could have called it Streets of yesterday or something and had nothing but older rides maybe even a fun house or glass house or haunted house.
