Thank you for the info. I think I've seen that book on Amazon.

Just for clarification there are two books with nearly the same title. The out-of-print book is the one I mentioned; The Great American Amusement Parks which contain the two MGA photos and there's a newer book titled The American Amusement Park by Dale Samuelson. Both have great coverage on theme parks.

I remember both, because I remember one being out of date.

That article about zforce is cool, but why, oh why did you staple it over something to do with Tidal WAVE?? On the right side, about 1/2 way down, you can see one of the waves.

I would like to see what's under the ZForce Article myself! :)

The Z force article was found stapled to the inside back page of a 1982 Marriotts Brochure which has an image of the Tidal Wave. The ZForce article is from 1985. I agree that this was a poor way of storing an article. The staples have been carefully removed and I will scan the back page and post it. For the moment my scanner is having some issues, but I get around this shortly. Also I do have a much larger Zforce article which I plan on posting as well.

Very nice. I think it's funny how on the Demon page there is a picture from before the conversion to Demon (light-colored track and all).

I now have my other Z FORCE article scanned from July 23, 1985.
It is from the Milwaukee Journal's Green Sheet.
(Yes the newspaper really is green). Scans are B/W

Interesting note: the park was open daily till 11pm in 1985.
I was working at the park during 1985, I had forgotten that we were
open that late.

I have The Great American Amusement Parks... bought it from the library years ago (they were selling it off!)

Here is a photoset with some aerials (from sky trek tower) taken July 2005. Includes some of Hurricane Harbor.

Thanks for the pointers to these photos.

I don't like seeing buildings on the other side of the tollway. I'm used to it always being big open fields...fields that were originally included in big expansion plans for the park.

Yes I agree, I was always disapointed whenever I heard that the park was selling off more land. I think they used to own land south of the American Eagle as well.
