At the SC park do they still play the Carousel Song at closing. I know the last time I visited I barely heard any music from the carousel, nor did I hear the National Anthem at opening.

Someone has a complete copy of the Carousel Song. That just has to be posted. How about the Demon's soundtrack? A friend who worked in Gurnee told me that at one time there the Demon music was available for sale. Sure have no idea how I missed that one. Guess I was too busy riding.

I was actually fortunate enough to get a copy of the Demon Music from the Gurnee Park. A good friend of mine was a ride's supervisor, and he made a copy for me from the "master" tape. So, I have a .mp3 of the full 25 minutes.

Since I have my own webserver, I could put it on there for people to download. Let me know what everyone thinks on this.

Ok...the people have spoken. Here's a link.

Do a right-click and then save as, to save the file to your local Hard Drive.

http://CPE-65-29-35-94.wi.res.rr.com:27 ... _Demon.mp3

The file is 10.2 MB (10,721,640 bytes). Keep in mind I have a 384 KB upload speed, so please don't all click on it at once! :)

Enjoy!

Carousel Song - Here it is!

Post by RLAiello » Thu Aug 25, 2005 8:33 pm

Hey all

First time post-er (but longtime fan of this site).

I was lucky enough to obtain a copy of the Carousel Song while I worked at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee. I won't divulge HOW I got it.. but let's just say I have it. :) I had sent Steven a CD of the song, along with a bunch of snippets of music from each of the themed areas a while back... but since this forum is alive and kicking...

I have uploaded the Carousel Song IN FULL to my FTP server... so JUST FOR YOU ALL, here it is:

http://www.rcktman.com/carousel_song.mp3

It's about 6 MB so you'd be best to right click and save it.

Enjoy!

Carousel Song - Updated Lyrics

Post by RLAiello » Thu Aug 25, 2005 9:12 pm

I was following along to the lyrics posted here while listening to the Carousel Song.. and whoever posted them to that other site did a nice job, but made a bunch of mistakes. :)

So... here are the corrected lyrics:

The Carousel Song

See the carousel turning round and around there,
It's a fantasy, take a ride, you'll see!
It takes us so long as it spins to a song.
It's a daydream, can you come on along now...

To the carousel, catch a brass ring for luck!
Meet a special girl, hold her hand there.
Take a journey on the merry-go-round,
It's magic when you're young.

Ride a sparkling steed decked out in jewels,
You're a knight in shining armored dress.
It's all make-believe, but no one can tell,
Enjoy your ride on the carousel!

Horses glide along, turning round and around there,
It's a fantasy, make-believe;
Take a journey on the merry-go-round,
It's magic when you're young!

Instrumental Break

See the carousel turning round and around there,
It's a fantasy, take a ride, you'll see!
It takes us so long as it spins to a song.
It's a daydream, can you come on along now...

To the carousel, catch a brass ring for luck!
Meet a special girl, hold her hand there.
Take a journey on the merry-go-round,
It's magic when you're young!

Ride a sparkling steed decked out in jewels,
You're a knight in shining armored dress.
It's all make-believe, but no one can tell,
Enjoy your ride on the carousel!

Horses glide along, turning round and around there,
It's a fantasy, make-believe;
Take a journey on the merry-go-round,
It's beautiful...
It's wonderful...
It's magic...
Even now!

THANKS RICK!!!! I've been looking for this for years as well. Now, if I could just get a hold of the theme music for each section.....

Again, thanks for sharing this with us.
