Up next is this 1976 map which orignally sold for 48 cents (Marriott's price tag is on the back). Map is kept in its original clear plastic sleeve.

Thanks for sharing these! I was looking at some of your other scans and noticed something very interesting about this one:

I think that must be the only time I've seen anything from the parks that has "GREAT AMERICA" without the embedded stars on the A's and R's -- just like "GREAT AMERICA parks" the site!

Next is the 1987 map for Gurnee
here is a nice large version
http://www.pbase.com/redfishpaw/image/53285066/original
The large 1987 map worked out nicely, I may increase the file size on my earlier posts so they are easier to see. I've been trying to figuire out what is the best way to post poster sized maps.
I had to piece this one together in photoshop, so there are some seams.
(I do have access to a large format scanner, but it is b/w only.)
The back of the map has full decriptions of everything, I can scan that shortly.
Next map will be 1986 (sorry about going out of order) which has nearly identical artwork. So they revised the 86 map for 87, I didn't realize this until today. The 1986 map is interesting, no Edge, no Power Dive, no Delta Flyer (skyride or the later flat ride) etc. So, for the sake of comparing the two similar maps, 1986 will be next.
Also, earlier this week I added more info for the 1979 map, click on the link above under the image in the 1st post, if your interested.

Honestly 1987 park map is by far the most detailed and overall most interesting and helpful I think. Its easy to read an you dont need to flip back and forth looking at stupid #'s and trying to match them up.
Also it shows a side to the park which is kinda cool and not really seen much anymore the park was in the transition faze between Marriott's caring and fun atmosphere to hard core Six Flags extreme ridiculousness. It really feels like there is truely something to do around every corner in this map its lively, fun, colorful and informative.
I wish they still did them like this!

"he's to large to free himself in fact hes a monstrous animal now...and this ride is his cage!"
Oh yeah, those numbers are SO anoying when trying to find your way, plus the paper has to be like lamenated in order to still be useful after going on water rides.
The rides are GREAT, the shows are GREAT, the fun is GREAT, at Marriott's Great America! REMEMBER Marriott's GREAT AMERICA, REMEMBER Marriott's GREAT AMERICA!

Well, I finally got around to scanning the 1986 map, here it is:
http://www.pbase.com/redfishpaw/image/56720981/original
I'm not going to scan the back this time. I have been planning on reassembling/reposting the 1976 map so that it is the same file size as the 1986 and 1987 map, then I'll scan another map
