Splashwater Falls
Here are two scans of photos of Splashwater Falls from 1987. I remember when this ride was built. I was dissapointed that the Barney Oilfileds raceway was made smaller (and the 3rd lane was lost). As SWF was going up I kept hoping that the raised portion would be larger, but that didnt happen. Anyway, I have not been on this ride in ages, I wonder how popular it is these days now that it is almost 20 years old.

A nice view of the bridge

Fact is, they had to tame down the splash after the ride was completed.jonrev wrote:They should have made the bridge a little lower because last time i went on that bridge I barely got splashed.
The first runs produced such a huge splash that the boats were getting swamped and had a difficult time making it back into the station. There was also concern about people getting knocked about on the bridge.
The front of the boats were reshaped to change the impact with the water. It's still an impressive splash, but the early days were really spectacular!
