Nostalgia Value at the Rehire Party
Nostalgia Value at the Rehire Party
As we approach the 30th anniversary of the opening of Great America, I noticed an exhibit which told you the story of the history of the theme park. I went to the employee rehire party last night and they had it at the Season Pass Processing Center. There was a model of the American Eagle on one end and mannequins depicting the way the employees dressed over the years on the other end. Along the exhibit, they had tables stacked with memorabilia of the park. I will post pictures later on.
They also had a model of the park sitting in Firehouse Pizza dating back to before the park was built. It was enclosed in glass and on the sides the letters read -- you guessed it -- MARRIOTT'S GREAT AMERICA!

The Eagle Model??? I knew they would pull that thing out for the 30th anniversary. From what I remember, that thing was quite large.
If you took pictures, please post them soon.
I'm guessing the Park Model you saw looked like this?

It's unsure where or if this stuff will be placed during the season for guest viewing, but I sure hope it will!
Here are a few I took from last night

Some of the pictures might appear broken in the thumbnails, but all are there if you click on them.

Nice photos, it is nice to see the model of the A.E. The early park map also caught my eye. It looks like the one I have post here.
