I've just added a musical slide show to the multimedia page (
http://www.greatamericaparks.com/multimedia.html). To keep the file size down, I had to make it a Windows Media file. Even so, it's a big 12 MB download.
I had mentioned a little while ago that I came across an extended version of the "maybe a great day is just what you need this year" song. I thought that it would be perfect to use as the music for a retrospective slide show. Given my injured arm, I made the slide show with one hand. So don't be too harsh with your comments!

That said, I would appreciate your feedback. Enjoy! (I hope!)

Arm injury or no arm injury... that is an AWESOME show. I'm using my two good arms right now to applaud you. Well-done!!!!!!!!!!
Love the song too! Crazy thing is, I don't remember it at all! But after reading about AstroWorld and realizing how lucky we are to still have both of the Great Americas... it made me misty-eyed. Seriously.
Thanks again Steven.

Steve,
Words cannot describe how awsome that slide show was. Broken arm or not, you did a great job on that!

Thanks, everyone, for the kind feedback! Also, just to clarify, the arm is not broken, but is still pretty much out of commission for the time being. Healing is a slow process.

GREAT slide show Steven!!! I have shown it to many friends to illustrate what a wonderful park we once had.

Steven,
I must say that since I have joined this site a few weeks ago, I have watched your terrific slide show a number of times!!
Marriot's could have used this show for recruiting employees and advertising for sponsors in the 70's!!! Professionally done with fabulous pictures and great timing with the music!
It definitely puts a smile on my face becasue I do have many memories of Marriott's and Six Flags. The great thing is that after I view the show, I almost feel like I am there...too bad I am not! lol
Just a quick question....What year did this theme song from the slide show advertise Great America?
Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad that you like the slide show! The song should be from the 1982 season. It's one of my favorite MGA tunes.

Wow!, that's a cool video. I have to know what is the song called, please tell me Steven.
1st, there was Marriott Corparation, then there was Marriotts Great America, then their was Six Flags Great America (or Great America) then there was Hurricane Harbor (or Paramounts Great America)WOW! It would have never make it this far!
