Name Badges and Buttons

Post by BrianPlencner »

Everyone,

Figured I would post 2 pictures, showing the name badges that I had while working at the park, and my collection of buttons as well.

Enjoy!

The name tag in the lower left hand corner has a gold carousel pin on yet. Is this a 10 year pin? I have the 5 year pin on my nametag which is more round. I didn't quite make it to 10 years.

Very cool! I like Bugs on the nametags. What's on the little red pin?

It is actually my 5 year pin, which would have been for the 1992 season (the last year I was at the park).

The little red pin says "Perfect Attendance". I never missed a day a work the entire season. I don't remember which year it was for.

Looking at your operator badge Brian you look familiar, were you on West side? I was a north sider.

My tag and button collection

Post by RLAiello »

I finally found my old name tags and buttons... I swear there's more hiding somewhere (I'm such a pack rat) but here is what I have. These tags tell the story of my history as an employee at Six Flags Great America:

Image

A: 1988- Front Gate Ticket Seller
B: 1989- Front Gate Lead
C: 1990- Cash Control Teller
D: 1991-1992 Cash Control Teller (1991 3 Year Pin on one of the tags)
E: 1993- Cash Control Teller (5 Year Pin)
F: 1993-1995- (Green tags) Cash Control Teller
G: 1996- (Blue tag) Front Gate Supervisor
H: 1997- (Black tag) Information Center (10 Year Pin over the "flag")
I: 1997-1999 (Blue Tag) Sales Representative (Full Time)
J: 1998- (Black Tag) Special "Camp Nickname" tag for Media event (opening of Looney Tunes National Park/Camp Cartoon Network)

Various buttons collected over the years (there were MANY more).

I just found mine (from 1985 or 1986), and it had a small red "I Care" heart affixed to the nametag. Employees would get them after receiving five "I Care" cards as recognition for doing a good job.

I found the "I Care" cards as well, but cannot remember what the different card colors stood for, if anything.

Can anyone help my failing memory?

I don't know what the colors meant. I hope that someone will chime in with that info. I figure that this tied into the Six Flags "We CARE about you!" campaign. Is that right?

For Gurnee the name tag colors were as follows:

White - Costumed seasonal employee (the normal name tage)
Red - Costumed lead
Blue - Costumed superviser.
Green - Non costumed employee (wardrobe, cash control, etc)
Grey - Full time employee (management, office, etc)

Gold - an honorary color which existed for a short time for seasonal employees, I see the Brian had one for being a ''service superstar''.
