Yankee Clipper chutes

This Gurnee photo holds many memories for me because I used to work on the Yankee Clipper there. This was the view from the chutes operator's position. To get here, we could either walk along the lower flume, climb the second lift and walk the upper flume to the chutes position, or we could climb the steep catwalk you see here. One of the funniest things about working the chutes position was seeing the expressions on the faces of guests as they were about to take the big plunge. Also visible in this photo are two of the other main rides that I worked at Gurnee: the Southern Cross and Eagle's Flight skyrides.
