My first time visiting Great America was in the early to mid 90's, when Paramount owned the park. I don't remember the first visit, but I have fond memories of going on rides such as Triple Play, Sky Whirl, and the Carousel, since I wasn't tall enough for much else. I've been going for so long becau...

Well, I couldn't tell you what it's like to work at SFGAm, but I work at GA in Santa Clara. I'd say try it out. I know the two parks are run completely different, but you'll never know unless you try.

Can us Santa Clara people post here too?

For me:
1. Tidal Wave
2. Triple Play
3. Sky Whirl
4. Railroad
5. Stealth (I know it's modern, but I still miss it)

I'm also for the coaster. Just as long as we get SOMETHING. It seems like CF doesn't care about putting coasters in.

^Yes, Demon is a corkscrew coaster. I'd suggest changing it, but if you'd like to keep it that way, it's fine. :)

Well EagleMom, I work at the Santa Clara GA, in rides. As you've said, I also receive a lot of complaints from guests, for different reasons. And most of them are legitimate complaints. I do empathize with you, guest relations is defenitely not an easy job. Just hang in there, and soon enough, the s...

Oh, I could fill up a book with the wierd things that guests ask me. At Invertigo, people have asked if the ride goes upside down. I politely tell them yes, but I really want to say, "Just LOOK at the ride for a few seconds and you'll figure it out." Also when I'm working at Berserker (for...

^Actually, most of the flats have areas to place loose articles, like Orbit and Berserker. Firefall, they usually have a person at the front of the line. I see most of the people putting their bags at the front, leaving them there until they're done.

MGA1, your stories are both funny and insightful. I love to read all the memories you have of working at Great America. I work at the Santa Clara park, and I hope I will have lots of memories like this.

This sounds very frightening. Perhaps this was one of the reasons Southern Cross and Delta Flyer were removed from the park. I've never heard of any problems of this happening at the SC park, where Delta Flyer is still operating.

I have a suggestion. How about you put in a Top Spin and call it Firefall? Now that the new ride is open to the public, it'd be nice to see it in your recreation.

I see your point. I would love to go to the Gurnee park one day. You know, see how the grass is on the other side. But right now it looks like your grass is greener.

^No offense, but have you even been to the Santa Clara park. My gosh, it's barren! You guys are really lucky to still have rides like Triple Play and Lobster.
