^ Could you do that without getting in trouble if caught? I've never worked at a theme park, but I just assumed that ride accident insurance only covered guests of the park, not sneaky employees.

(I don't know why I think of these things!)

I guess this debunks my "Hotwheels matchbox car racetrack" theory!

Your information makes sense: less trains = less brakes. Thanks for the info!

I'm speculating that the system attempted to make the trains "even" at the top of the hill. Then, they'd let them go at the same time - like a Hot Wheels matchbox car racetrack. I too have seen many threads here regarding the brakes, but have never figured out what they are for, exactly. I...

BrianPlencner (or Steve) - I've seen many posts regarding the "breaking system" at the top of the Eagle on this site before. Has there been any resolution as to what exactly these are for? From what I remember, the first few years that the Eagle was running, the trains would actually "...

I got the Demon recording a couple of years ago (during Napster's heyday) but lost it - thanks for posting it! I really enjoy the part at about 20 minutes where the safety announcements start. Especially the male voice - I remember his voice on many pre-recorded ride announcements at the Gurnee park...

BrianPlencner, I remember the Northwest shooting gallery worked exactly as you described. It shot a beam of "light" to the targets, which is the reason they have the "No Flash Photography" sign posted. However, I believe Pirates Alley worked a little different. It seemed to me th...

Back to the Edge accident - I remember that the (Gurnee) accident was a BIG DEAL (much more than the Demon "stuck in the loop" thing that happened a few years back). I remember much public outcry that the ride be taken out. I'm speaking strictly to what I remember as the media/general publ...

Power Dive

Am I the only nut here that loved the Power Dive? Why was it taken down? (Well, other than poor attendance.)
