Re: What's Better, TOTC or The Demon?

Unfortunately I was too small for TOTC when it existed and have only riden the Demon. I have to say if it wasn't for the theming package used for Demon it would just end up being an run of the mill looping coaster. From what I've seen of TOTC and heard of people's experince on the airtime hills I wo...

Anyone remember another "revolution" ride at Gurnee?

I have a faded memory of a ride I think was called the Industrail Revolution at the Gurnee park. it was a Himalayas styile ride and I belive was in about the same spot the current Revolution ride is. I'm wondering if anyone can confirm this and where it was located in the park.

Re: Screams and Dreams Vol. 2 on Youtube

As you wtach this video you can see the uniqueness that was Great America slowly slip away into the genericness (if that's a word) that is Six Flags. This was not as well done as part 1 and I barely managed to get through it. I do have to agree the modern ride commercails are not as good as the vint...

Youtube video of Gurnee Park in 1978

http://youtu.be/OFGutYfVydA

I recently discovered this Youtube video showing some Super 8 camera footage of the Gurnee park circa 1978. Some of the noticed rides in this include the Sky Trek Tower, Delta Flyer, Lobster, Turn Of The Century, and Davey Jones Dingies among others.

Re: 2012 Opening Weekend Trip Report - Gurnee

Forgive the bump up of this thread but I just joined the fourms not too long ago. It's good to see the retro themed merchandise. It gives the park a bit of uniqueness that it's been lacking for some time. I do agree that Buzzy Bees looks very bizarre in the Lobster place. Thankfully this will only b...

Weight Rescritions??

I heard something about SFGA now weigihing guests in line and refusing rides to those that they deem too heavy. I wondered if there was any truth to this, and if it is I would think there would be a more discrete way to do it than in the queue line.
