Santa Clara Orleans Orbit

Steven, have you heard any news about the status of the orleans orbit at PGA, or is it just a rumor?

I think that PGA has made some, shall we say, interesting, choices about removing and renaming rides.... as it seems like the rides we like the best are disappearing

Very interesting, because in all the years I've been going to the santa clara park, I've never seen the waterfall as red. Usually it's not running at all, or it's just clear water

JW65, you asked about the rocks for Demon, and if I remember correctly, I could swear that the rocks were still at PGA in 1994, and of course the blood waterfall was already long gone by then.

Question for the Gurnee folks

Was the Gurnee park either known as Marriott's GA or Six Flags GA? In other words, the park was never known as just Great America (like PGA was), right?

Thanks for sharing the news! I'm always happy to see a ride moved and restored rather than scrapped.

With the way things are done at the park (PGA) these days, it would not surprise me one bit if they removed it. I hope it's just a rumor though, I still go on it every time I visit the park.

It would be great if the santa clara tidal wave was only being moved and not destroyed for parts, and you were right that_guy, it was blue still on the outer part, only the inner track portion was repainted that green color. I forgot about the blue color because when I visited the park in Nov., the ...

I'm kinda wondering that too, maybe there was a plan to rebuild it at marine world and it just didn't work out, but if anyone knows for sure, we'd appreciate hearing what happened.

According to the norcal coasters webpage, where those pics are from, the tidal wave is being shipped to SFKK to be used for spare parts. Also according to norcal page, the pictures were taken in the marine world parking lot, which is where the santa clara tidal wave was sent to a few years ago.

Hey badfingerboogie, I just read your first entry about the TW, and I can tell you that yes the action theater is still there. After days of thunder, it became a 007 show. At the end of the 2005 season, it was a spongebob show. From what I always saw, people just did not have an interest in riding t...

Thanks Signal 6 for posting those pics in the photo album, I especially like the buttons.... the yankee clipper farewell button is neat, I rode the clipper in either Aug or early Sept. that year, but I didn't know they were going to take it out.
