30 Years-A Look Back

This is a video that aired in the Bay Area a couple months ago about the history of Paramount's Great America. It's 30 minutes and is pretty interesting and covers some cool things. It's finally available online. Here's two links. The first one is the direct link to the site of the video. The second...

The other park in Houston is a waterpark owned by Six Flags. It's called Splashtown. Six Flags Elitch Gardens and Six Flags Darien Lake were the other two theme parks on the chopping block, along with a few more water parks. When they mentioned Six Flags Magic Mountain, I was shocked. But, I don't r...

It makes sense going to PGA. King's Dominion already has 4 launched coasters: Volcano, Italian Job, Hypersonic, and SBNO Flight of Fear. But with Cedar Fair in charge, it could go to any of the other parks now in the new chain. And PGA's newest big coaster is Invertigo which came here in 1998.

I'm so glad Santa Clara still have their Power Dive/Endeavor. It's so fun because it goes upside down slow, and usually stalls upside down for a while.

Now at PGA, the WOW! cards are $51.99. They hiked up the prices. A VIP pass is $84.99 is you buy them individually. If you want to buy a one day admission (not a season pass) online, they're $34.99. And parking is $10.

I love the queue to Logger's Run in Santa Clara. It looks so awesome with the trees grown. It reminds me of a forest. I sish they would do something with the Stealth footers, even though it would be expensive.

It was a lot more landscaped before Stealth. Now, with Boomerang Bay, hopefully the trees they planted will look nice in the area once they are grown.

Top Gun stopped doing pictures last season, although the booth is still there. Vortex and Psycho Mouse are the only rides that still do an on-ride photo. All the coasters used to do it, (I'm not sure about Grizzly though).

A few reasons were that it was always broken and had a lot of down time. The loading times were slow and got under 1000 (about 900) riders per hour. It was an extremely fun coaster and the stupid water park doen't even come close to Stealth.

Re: PGA Remembered Rides

Why can't Greezed Lightening and Stealth come back to PGA where they belong? I wish there was a way to get them back. It would be really easy to bring back Greased Lightnin' because it takes up almost no room and can be put just about anywhere. Stealth on the other hand, would have no way of being ...

When I went there on a Saturday once, all the other coaster's lines were like 2 hours wait, and Greased Lightnin's line was a walk-on. How awesome was that.

Thanks a lot. I really miss that ride. :( I remember when I first went on it with my cousin, I was scared to death when she would control the "pod" to make it go upside-down. And then right when I started getting into roller coasters and rides, they took it out.

Great pictures! I liked the one of Skyhawk. Even though it broke down A LOT, I still really liked it and it brought back memories. It was also weird to see Triple Play without Vortex's turnaround next to it.

And do you happen to have pictures of Skyhawk in action?
