Service Tech 1, Wow! I had not seen the other winter pics you posted. They are really "cool"! Pictures of the various rides that are snow covered (like the Z Force pic) are what I really like. Sky Whirl would've been very cool to see snow covered. I figure maintenance crews probably remove...

It really depends on how old you already were when Splashwater Falls first opened, 20 years ago. :P

Hey Tech Services 1...

Do those little cells of yours recall where more winter pics from Gurnee live?
If so, I'd appreciate seeing "all" of them....call me selfish! Thanks for the two you did post.

Does anyone know what year the fake rocks were removed from around the loops of Demon? Were they removed at both parks at the same time? Why were these rocks removed? Was it because of the toning down in themeing? Those "rocks" around the loops really added to the theme of the ride and now...

History of Gurnee Park

There is a nice article at Wikipedia about the history of Marriotts and Six Flags Great America in Gurnee - from conception in 1974 to present.

I had some problems accessing the page, so it may or may not work for you.

I didn't realize that the Ameri-Go-Round once located at the Santa Clara park had been a restored, vintage 1918 carousel. I thought it was just a reproduction of an original. What about the Ameri-Go-Round from Gurnee? I know it is no longer in operation, but was it also a vintage carousel?

Hey Tech 1, Welcome! I had an entry in another thread that I bet you'd have an answer for. I was wondering if I could see some pictures of the Gurnee park in the winter. I think it would be amazing to see what some of the rides looked like covered in snow after a blizzard/snow storm. Do you have any...

Would someone who has ridden SF Magic Mountain's Superman the Escape describe how it is similar and different from MGA's The Edge? If you don't know much about Superman the Escape, read about it here. I've often thought the concept was similar to The Edge..., but much more thrilling! http://www.thri...

Anyone recall how many seasons The Edge sat unused in Gurnee before it was dismantled? It seems like it was at least one season or two?

Thanks for the info Brian.

Does the park have other models for display this year? If so, where do you think the model(s) will be displayed in the park?
