With the focus on the 45th Anniversay of the company, the 30th Anniversary of the park will drop to the sideline. There will be no merchandise, no banners, nothing.

That Italian company is Zamperla. I am not impressed with some of their stuff. But on the other hand, some of it holds up well. We do A LOT of fabrication here at Gurnee. Whizzer comes to mind as a big one. But just about every ride here that is original to the park has had something fabricated for ...

It depends. Some ride manufacturers are very good at setting up and properly informing the maintenance personnel. Some companies aren't (a certain Italian one comes to mind........) But you would be surprised on how much rides are the same. We can specifly in the contract on how we want certain thin...

Locally though, after the park was sold a lot of people called it "Great America" and have never called it Six Flags. Some folks around here still call it "Marriotts". Most of the kids under 25 call it Six Flags.

The Gurnee Ameri-Go-Round is packed into shipping crates that are stored underneath the Superman:UF lift. You can also see them off to the left as you exit S:UF.

Its amazing on how close the original Hot Shoppe and the park replicas are. The light fixtures above the doors are EXACTLY the same, and the street address above the door is on all three locations as well, "3126" The space is now used for storage. The original hardwood floor inside remains...
