Thanks for sharing the pics Steven :D
I've always wanted to see them up close!
Were all the contest entries tall and bulky like the first place winner's?

The model coasters have to be built according to specifications that are listed in the contest rules:
http://homepage.mac.com/cbakken/pga/con ... les06.html

The rules put restrictions on the size and height. The rules also favor the inclusion of some elements. For example, more loops bring more points. Winning teams have usually studied the rules in detail and designed the best coaster possible that complies with all the rules. That leads to the higher scores.

Thanks for taking the Whizzer photos Steven, those are the best I've seen of the remains.

I'm not surprised the footers are still there. It's a waste of money to get rid of them. Greased Lightnin's and some of Stealth's footers (the one's that didn't interfere with Boomerang Bay.) are all still there.

^ Yeah, and Stealth's footers are HUGE, BULKY, and UGLY, they are an eyesore while riding Logger's Run. But I guess it's better than taking out a ride under stealth, eh, I'm just being too picky.

I was wondering, when you look at these footers, it does not really look like it was being thrown out since it does not seem like they just ripped them off, or are those actually part of the supports?

Looks to me like they torched or cut the studs that are cast or screwed into the footers.
