Placement of Whirlygig?

Was the "Whirlygig" always in Yukon Territory in front of what is now Batman?
For some reason I remember as a kid going to the park and being surprized that it was there.
I also remember it not being there when i went to Fright Fest as a kid. The circular cement pad was there, but behind the chain-link fence there was the Batmobile and actors dressed up as rats. (they were eating popcorn people were "feeding" them. weird, right? )
Was I dreaming? or was Whirlygig removed at one point?

My understanding of it is this:

-Whirligig was an original ride in 1976, located in County Fair, across from Fiddler's Fling
-It was moved in 1985 to Yankee Harbor in front of Tidal Wave when Z-Force was built
-In 1992, it was moved across in front of Yankee Clipper when Batman: The Ride opened. The Batmobile was parked in the spot where Whirligig was
-In 2001, when V2 was built, Whirligig was once again moved back to where it was before Batman: The Ride came along. This is its current location.
