Tanya,

Your picture postings here in the forum are very clear and easy to download. They look really good! Thanks so much for sharing. If you have more articles, brochures, etc from the park, it would be great to see them here!

Hey that's me.... Foghorn. The Bugs Bunny is Bobby Giraudo. I see this is from when the park was open on just weekends.

Tanya
what years did you work at the park?

I was in the Grand Music Hall (Great America Singers)
the first 3 years the park opened

i remember how enthusiastic everyone was about working at this great place

I now live on the east coast and after reading some of the other posts
glad I'm not there to see how much the park has deteriorated over the years.

did you work at the park in 76 - 77 or 78
Santa Clara that is!

thanks for all the wonderful posts, scans, etc

PS - by the way that is me in the middle of the picture
in my profile box?

I didn't start working there until 82. I worked four seasons. Kid Kingdom, Toll Plaza, Group Sales/Season Pass, Main gate audit staff, and one off season I worked in the merchandise warehouse pricing stuff. I was also an extra in the very first commercials they made in 1976 before the park opened. I was only 10 then. So are you still in entertainment or performing arts? Looks like you loved what you did!

life in the Grand Music Hall

Post by brdwyguy »

I am now a Theater Arts Teacher
and I direct local theater here in Pennsylvania.

If you take a look at the Silver Screen Commercial on the home page of this web site - you will see me in a Silver Sequined Tux - oiy those were the days.

I love singing and theater more than anything in the world.
I take trips to NYC and see musicals as often as i can.

But in my life - my years working on that stage was the most rewarding AND the most gruelling.
I remember those weekends in the Fall when we did
2 shows Friday night
6 shows on Sat
5 show on Sunday

i would barely be able to walk in the front door on Sunday Nights
YET I still look back on it with fondness and love.

That's great Joey! You are very fortunate to be able to do what you love.

(I can't get the commercial to open anymore)

I watched or listened to everything on that page when I first saw it. I can't open or save any of it now. My husband may have messed with the settings on the computer (sounds like something he would do  )
