Eagle's Nest Restaurant

Post by Santa Cruisin »

I've never been to the Gurnee park, however in brochures that I collected (now gone) I remember seeing a restaurant listed next to the American Eagle called Eagles Nest.

What kind of restaurant was it? Was it anything special or just the standard hamburber/hotdog outlet? Was it themed well?

Eagle's Nest was just your standard Hot Dog / Burger place in the park. I believe they were also one of the few places in the park that sold beer. I believe the name was choosen because it was located right next to the queue / exit of the American Eagle.

Today, the name of the place is called something else, and I believe it has a sports theme to it. Whatever year they added the TV's to the queue's, they added some extra ones in that area, and you could watch sports on them (cubs, sox, bulls, etc) depending on what was playing. It was not a direct feed, but it was live TV (like Channel 9, 5, or Fox 32 out of Chicago).
