One of those Tidal Wave patches was the object of a pretty fierce bidding war on eBay a year or two ago. I only watched from the sidelines, though.

I worked as the Shipping and Receiving Clerk in the SC Merchandise Wharehouse when the Demon buttons were sold. In those position I got to see what the park paid for things and what hey sold them for. Those Demon buttons had the worse mark up of any thing that I saw. The park paid 20 cents for each one and then then sold each for $1.00.

Not suprising. Although I don't feel too bad -- according to the price tags on the back, I got them on close out for $0.25. :)

Does anyone know what the parks did back in the Marriott era or do nowadays with the leftover prizes. Hopefully, they're donated to organizations like Toys for Tots that could use stuffed animals and not just thrown away instead. :?
