Baker's Square in Gurnee Great America

Post by dth1971 »

Do you remember in the mid 1980's after the Six Flags takeover of Marriott's Great America in Gurnee, Illinois there was for about a year or two (circa 1984-1985) a Baker's Square pie restaurant in the Gurnee Great America theme park?

According to the 1984 guide, Baker's Square took over the Hometown Bakery. I think it kept the same menu as the Hometown Bakery, but took on the name of the sponsor. It only held this name for a year or two and then returned to the Hometown Bakery name until the Boarding House expanded into its space. I don't believe the Boarding House was renamed or shared the Baker's Square sponsorship.
