That's a cool change. Eventually they'll probably revamp the rest of the site.

What I wish could do on their website is have a description of every ride in the park like the Six Flags parks do. And have a POV video of the coasters like Cedar Point does.

I noticed that the park is "Closed for the Season"...

I thought it was open year round?
When does it open and close?

So its only open about a month longer than it's midwest counterpart.

What I don't understand is WHY, since to my knowledge the weather in San Franciso is pretty good year round (Of course I may be getting it confused with San Diego, excuse my ignorance...) It should make sense to keep it open longer

Actually the weather in winter ain't that great. (Though this winter has been fairly warmer) There's a reason why Northern California theme parks are only open Spring-Fall, and Southern California parks are open year round: weather.

The only exception to that is the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is open year round. I understand why GA opens at the end of March, but I wish they would stay open through November. The weather in November in NorCal is usually nice.

I like the new GREAT AMERICA logo, also the site offers a nice PDF of the the 2007 park map. although I noticed that map does not have the new logo. Also, I find it funny that the map shows the tunnels once used by the train over by the demon.

Maybe they could still bring the train back? (But since I've never been to Santa Clara, I don't know how possible that would be?)

They could........ but it would be severly inpractical. Sadly, They would have to get passed A LOT of new attractions including: Celebration Swings, probably Survivor: The ride, Psycho Mouse, Thunder Raceway, and the whole waterpark (which are in the way of the old route).
The rides are GREAT, the shows are GREAT, the fun is GREAT, at Marriott's Great America! REMEMBER Marriott's GREAT AMERICA, REMEMBER Marriott's GREAT AMERICA!

I don't think there is anyplace for the train to go if they wanted to bring it back. The entire hill where the Hometown station was is completely gone, along with the tressle. There is almost no transition between Carousel Plaza and Hometown Square.
