Think back to the Marriott years. Does anyone who was either a season pass member, or worked at the IL or CA park, recall any special events or traditions that took place on opening days? I remember showing up on opening day way back in 1980, but don't recall anything out of the ordinary happening at the park to celebrate opening day. Just curious.
I seem to recall the Marriott family coming out for each opening day and they'd have a small ceremony with speeches and the Marching Band. I know that happened in Chicago at least to '79.
