Rides you've ridden no longer there

Post by Demonlover13 »

I've only been going to the park in Gurnee about 3 years actively. I got a chance to ride Stargate and Superstition before it became SBNO for the 2008 season. Please share!
I need a great day this year, or 2, or 30!

Help me win a bet. I remember MGA having a "regular" Ferris wheel when the park first opened. It only lasted a short time.

Since I've been going there since 1977, there's alot gone now that I've been on. Just ask my son, I'm always pointing out places in the park where they used to stand! I've been on the Edge (my favorite!), Tidal Wave, Z-force, Sky Whirl, Haybailer, Cajun Cliffhanger, Splashwater Falls, Shockwave, Bottoms Up, Power Dive, DejaVu, and I think I even rode Davey Jones Dingheys (no comments, please!). Originally from Sandwich, I was at Marriott's Great America on their grand opening weekend. I was always kept up to date on changes, but hadn't been to the park for 20 years, until last year (celebrating my 40th). I knew I would be saddened by the absence of Sky Whirl above the trees, but I had a fantastic time...

1-Sky Whirl
2-Tidal Wave
3-Hay Bayler

And I also remember the smaller Ferris wheel...
RIP, Chippewa Lake Park & Celebration City
