The Tidal Wave sign

Post by Tidal Wave »

Hello, I am currently recreating the sign for the Tidal Wave coaster and was wondering if anyone knows what those little dots are in the middle of the waves. Are they lights? There are 132 of them if anyone was wondering.

Which sign are you replicating? The Gurnee one was over the queue and the SC one was placed on the "beach". From this view the SC sign looks like it has lights on the waves:

BTW, I made a Demon sign for halloween :D

At night the eyes glowed bright red and I had the Demon song playing in the background.

I bet you they are lights, it would be really cool if you could use christmas lights to light up the waves on the sign :D

Those are indeed lights on the Tidal Wave sign. I saw the orgional a few years ago at the park. I don't think it is any longer, but it may?

I have started a Tidal Wave sign myself. So far I have letters cut out and they will be painted tonight.

Yes they were lights. Chaser lights to be exact. I think they used to be tied to the start button on the ride so they would chase as the train was pushed out of the station. I used to work days so I didn't see the lights run much, but that is what I remember of them the few times I did see them on.

You know now that I think about it a bit more, I think the lights I'm thinking of were on the waves that ran along the track.. those had lights and would chase with the train. Sorry about that.

I could have sworn that yes, those were lights on the sign, but I think they were just basic white glow type lights which were always solid.

Glorfindel7 is correct. They were solid white (at least Gurnee's were).

Guys, your signs are awesome! Crackin up......I love the Demon thing for Halloween! Great idea 8) Always wanted to make full size waves, but a drain pipe sounds even better. Plus I gotta add a prop each year, right? Too bad no one in Ohio would recognize it.

If CoasterDynamix ever decides on an Arrow style kit (everyone please write them!), I plan on a fully themed Demon model, complete with drain pipe.... *evil laugh*

Hi Brad,

I like your Tidal Wave model as seen here. Nice Job!

(I had posted this link in another thread a while back, so some
of you may have seen it.)

Is this model still on public display?
