Ive been watching that for the past few days. Last night when I checked it was $10 and when I checked this afternoon it was up to $40. I couldnt believe it and I would never pay that much for it. Hopefully another one pops up.

I have this already and I did not get it from eBay. The description that it was an opening day brochure is somewhat incorrect. This was what they called a "rack brochure" that was distributed prior to the park's opening. Hence, it had the opening date prominently noted on the top of the front of the brochure. It was not a special brochure handed out just on opening day. Because it was printed up before the parks opened, all of the illustrations are artist's renderings. Later in the season, they replaced this brochure with one that had photographs taken during the 1976 season. The photos were taken at Santa Clara but used in brochures for Gurnee, too.

I have the one from Gurnee that I actually picked up from a rack of brochures. Why didn't I pick up a whole bunch of them? Anyway, as far as I know, I only have one. I don't know where it is at the moment, but next time that I run across it, I'll scan it. I also have one from Santa Clara. That one, I did get from eBay -- but quite a while ago. Don't know exactly where it is at the moment either...boxed up somewhere.

As of today, the bidding stands at $5.56.

I've been hanging on to my Grand Opening pewter plate, wondering if it will ever be worth anything . . .
Now here's proof it's worth keeping for sentimental reasons only; it's obvious it ain't gonna finance my early retirement . . . :D

Wow, what a thread.

It's great to see that people actually have this stuff! Being the Tidal Wave and Demon guy that I am, I occasionally look for items. A couple years back I watched a Tidal Wave patch go for $75 or something like that. I just couldn't stay in the running after it topped $50. Today is a different story......what I wouldn't give to have that booklet. I'm also trying to get brochures from each year (primarily Gurnee).

I did get my hands on a 12" pewter Bugs maquette. I am also fortunate to have 2 pennants (both in near mint cond. bought in the early 80's), one white with the Eagle logo, and the other gray with a Demon car and the Looney Tunes coming out of a tunnel. I'd love to know what those would go for, but not selling, sorry. 8) Also have the White Water Rampage version of the floating pen. Those were so cool.

Still hoping a "wave" from Santa Clara will show up somewhere, lights and all. I'd hate to pay shipping though. :D
