Very true. For the first few years we had a complete pit orchestra (strings,percussion, brass, 14-16 members in the pit every show. Then we went to just a rhythm section live with prerecorded strings and brass mixed in, but the cast remained the same size. It was still that way when I left in 1986 although the writing was on the wall and after the ownership changed, the shows quality changed forever.RLAiello wrote:Wow! These are great!!! Wow. You got that right. Things have changed a lot. Only one show in park which is located in the Grand Music Hall. Other who locations like the circus, Theater Orleans and Wilderness Theater have been closed for years. It is basically the same show every year. Music is now on tape. Very few set pieces. Cast is very small (6-8 people). Shows do not run all season (mid june to end of august). Limited number of shows per day that are scheduled 3:30 to 5:30 or so. Marriott it ain't!
